The Gauthier farm renovated and inaugurated at the beginning of the winter period, offers emergency housing for the homeless: 26 spots are reserved for them all year long and 25 additional spots are offered.

In 2010, 456 persons, including 412 households, were hosted for an average duration of stay of 15 days. The Gauthier farm managed last year 28% of emergency calls to the 115 during night time, weekends and holidays. The centre recorded the net increase in the number of unemployed young people lacking means.

"Even today, we still greatly need the Abbé Pierre..."

"... The fate of the most impoverished is a cause we should all be concerned about and which should not be part of cost reduction plans. Let us live up to the path delved by the Abbé to refuse fatalism and indifference."

Declared Jean-Pierre Roquet, ex-volunteer with the Foundation's regional Agency and President of the organisation ARPE which just finished the renovation of the centre.
