Owners or tenants, active, retired, students... the number of persons in France living in unsuitable conditions has been steadily on the rise. Facing these unacceptable conditions, the Foundation financially supports renovation and rehabilitation works, carried out by its partner organisations, while making sure beneficiaries take as active a part as possible in the project.
In addition, in 2007, the Foundation financed a national programme for the eradication of substandard habitat, "SOS Slum". Today, around 4 million persons live in unbearable conditions.
To strengthen its action alongside its partner organisations and to favour the emergence of innovative actions, the Foundation has started its second "SOS Slum" programme over the period of 2012-2013.
All across the country, thanks to the intervention of its regional Agencies, the Foundation finances renovation and rehabilitation projects, thus giving owners and tenants the opportunity to live in dignified conditions.
